Information Security Training Session Held in the Police Educational Complex of the Republic of Armenia

June 9, 2014 – A training session for Armenian police officers and public servants from other relevant state agencies on information security kicked off today in the RoA Police Educational Complex with the support of the OSCE Office in Yerevan. The training session is delivered by Sanjay Goel, Associate Professor at the University at Albany, State University of New York.

It is not the first time the OSCE Office in Yerevan has come up with such an initiative. In May 2013, the OSCE Office in Yerevan organized a similar training session for Armenian police officers.

The two-week training session aims to present the fundamentals of information security, the threats to computers and network infrastructures as well as countering them. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills needed for computer systems and data protection. The training session will also provide effective tools for carrying out better computer forensics and cyber crime investigation.
