BackTeam “BULWARK OF LAW” of the RoA Police Educational Complex took the second place in the Inter-University Moot Court
The Inter-University Moot Court was organized by the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University (YSU) and the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ). 10 teams of Law Faculties from different Universities of the Republic of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, including the team "BULWARK OF LAW" of the Police Educational Complex had applied to participate in the Moot Court beforehand.
Team of the Educational Complex was headed by Major Misak Markosyan, Associate Professor, PhD, Head of the Criminal Law and Criminology Department of the Faculty of Law of the Educational Complex Academy.
The Team of the Educational Complex is one of the 6 teams who win in the written stage.
8 to 10 December 2016 - The oral stage of the Moot Court was held in the “Arthurs Resort”, Aghveran.
The members of the oral stage jury were: German Chairing Judge at the Cologne Court of Appeal and President of the 15th Grand Chamber of the Court of Appeal Dr. Ian Ort, German lawyer Erich Joester specialized in criminal cases of “Joester und Partner” law office, Ex-president of the Criminal Chamber of the RA Court of Appeals David Avetisyan, Deputy President of the RA Criminal Court of Appeal Vazgen Rshtuni, Judge in the same court Mkhitar Papoyan, Head of the Department of the RA Prosecutor’s Office Gevorg Baghdasaryan, and the RA Chamber of Advocates lawyer Hayk Aloyan.
In the oral stage the team of the Educational Complex as defense side competed with the 2nd team of YSU, then as prosecution side competed with the team of Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University. As a result of these two successful games, the team of the Educational Complex entered the final by the unanimous decision of the jury. In the final stage the team "BULWARK OF LAW" took the second place.
As for the oral stage, team of the Educational Complex received a special award for the best prosecution, and the team member Naira Shahinian was awarded with a special prize for the "Best prosecution speech" given by the Prosecutor General's Office.
