New handbook for the learners
The handbook on “English for Law students” by the Head of Chair of Languages of the Educational Complex of Police of RA, police colonel A. Hayrapetyan was published. The handbook is for the students of bachelor degree of Law to develop written and oral skills of English. It is also useful for the students studying English at the Law universities located in Artsakh and Armenia.
The handbook consists of seven units with their seven subunits: grammar, text, lexicology, conversations, vocational short stories for fun, interesting information for worldview (it is interesting to know) and proverbs.
It is introduced famous writer Edgar Allan Poe’s fiction on “Murders in the morgue” consisted of 7 parts, which is known as the first detective fiction of worldwide literature.
The advisability to chose the fiction is based on extraordinary analytical skills of the main hero August Dupin, which will give opportunity to improve vocational tricks and flexibility of mind, a very important factor for the officers of law enforcement agencies. The choice of the history is advisable also as it is enriched with vocational lexicon and native speakers’ reading, including subtitles, which will help the students to improve English pronunciation, develop vocational lexicon and oral skills.
Each unit is fulfilled with appropriate word stock, grammatical, lexical, word formation activities, crosswords and professional tasks.
At the end of the handbook additional materials are attached: for performance, situational language learning and role-play games. Irregular verbs and tense formulas are also introduced in the Handbook.
